[classy=blurp]Twilight. Such a gorgeous time of day. One of the very best, in Greed's opinion. The setting sun stained the ground a brilliant bloodred as it died, turning the whole world a startling shade of crimson. This was that one awkward hour of in-between, when the daylight creatures were still too stubborn to go to bed and the nighttime creatures were too lazy to get up. People always thought that day and night were clear, two distinct entities, but no. This single hour was where the line between them blurred. What was once black and white was now running with thousands of shades of grey. Everything the elves thought they knew smeared together in these twilight hours, keeping the mortals constantly frightened, constantly off-balanced. Especially in these mountains, riddled with nooks and crannies and all sorts of hiding places for the world's more terrifying creatures...
And Greed loved it.
These caves were simply beautiful at this time, when there was still enough light to see but the shadows were long and ominous. The perfect conditions for hunting- many weary travelers, as well as many shadows to trap them with. All he need do now was wait for the right opportunity. Which would be why the powerful sin was currently huddled all alone in a dark cave. He'd much rather be at home surrounded by luxury, but his collection wasn't going to grow all by itself. Though this was certainly not the most glorious of places, it would have to do... Besides, they shiny rewards this was sure to reap outweighed any present unpleasantness.
Just when the demon had begun to grow bored of waiting, the soft crunch of footsteps upon gravel alerted him to the presence of another. Perfect. Hand flickering out to snatch at the cave's shadows, he slowly pulled the darkness around him, a cloak of invisibility that would easily fool any moral. One, two, three long strides had him waiting at the entrance, peering over the side of the cliff to catch a glimpse of his soon-to-be prey. Oh, a girl! And all alone too! Little girls usually had jewelry and such, right? Yes, yes, this would do rather nicely.
A sinister little chuckle rumbled from his chest, the sound bouncing off the rocks as he took several bounds forward. The sound would have alerted her to his presence, of course, but there was no way a mortal could find his precise location. Perhaps he'd toy with her a bit before he robbed her. A little game of hide and seek, yeah? Oh, this was going to be fun. Well worth the wait.[/classy] [STYLE=font-family: palatino linotype; font-size: 12px; color: #9F7575; border-top: 1px solid #0f1d3a; width: 340px;]words: 442;; tags: envy (yume);; notes: derp;;[/style]

[style=font-family: times; font-size: 12px; letter-spacing: 1px; text-transform: lowercase; color: #989898; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;] 666 WORDS FOR GREED First of all I <3 your post. Second I had no idea they had the same power and the word count ironic for a demon no? 0.O Haha anyhow over to you, hope it's okay.
ENVY [/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #6d6d6d;] [style=padding: 10px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 10px; height: 475px; overflow: auto; color: #1e1e1e;] Iara glided gracefully along the path ignoring the annoying calls of the birds that reached her ears, if she wasn't so happy she would of aimed a large rock at each one. Envy as she was better known by her family members carried her petite yet strong figure at an alarmingly fast rate moving faster than any horse than she had seen in battle. Running wind the wind blowing upon her face was one of her greatest past times when not killing or discovering more precious items for her collection, it was funny but between herself, Greed and Gluttony they probably owned more than than both royal families put together. Still she would always want more. As a sin she didn't have many friends even the ones she did have weren't people she trusted. After all an elf was an elf, they would all be dead before she drew anywhere close to her last breath.
She stumbled slightly upon a small stone feeling her heel snap beneath her though resisted the urge to cuss instead she threw the broken object at the source of sound still erupting from the trees. "Next time I'll ram the heel through your bloody skull" she exclaimed her eyes locked onto the creatures wings as the small figure flew into the distance the light behind it causing Envy to eventually lower her gaze unable to see against the sun "Stupid vile creature" The female continued muttering to herself as she made her way further up a small hill that seemed to have just appeared from a previous horizontal track. Her hair flowed evenly down her back styled into two ponytails that seemed to curve with her attractive figure, for a so called demon she was extremely nice to look at. At least Envy thought so when she looked in the mirror until she thought of Pride that is, then her namesake would come into play usually leading to a tantrum.
Currently however she was quite calm and positive, even if she was forced to be bare footed something that Iara along with her other sings were used too. When she herself had been "born" the female was produced completely naked yet old enough to know exactly what was going on thus quickly stole herself some clothes from a elf that had been in close proximity slicing his neck in the process. "Good times, I must remember to do that again" she muttered reaching a small cave system where she heard the strange echoes of a voice before seeing a female elf make her way towards Envy. Startled she jumped into the cave entrance waiting for the figure to approach.
"Brother you mustn't have all the fun" Iara muttered having recognized the voice that had been produced "What do you say we play with this one together?" Envy tilted her head slightly waiting for Greed to respond seeing as she could only slightly sense him and not actually see him with her own emerald eyes, that said two could play at his game. She drew her hands towards the center of her chest where she grasped them together before allowing the shadows around her to merge with her figure feeling it cover her like a freezing cold blanket causing her to shiver slightly. A few seconds later Iara allowed her hands to drop losing the sensation of the cold temperature yet still felt a slight increase of weight increase from the shadows that had blocked out the light reflecting against her body making Envy invisible.
The female laughed to herself though not as loud as her brother was, she preferred to torture her victims than let them know that she was coming. It allowed her to spend so much more time with her precious elves that she simply just loved to meet. Running her hand through her hair she slithered forward toward the entrance like a snake gently moving against the rough edges of the cave system sparking slightly in the light.

[classy=blurp]A soft, involuntary growl ripped its way from his throat as he jerked back, away from the figure who was leaping into his cave. This was his prey! No one had the right to scare the mortal off- or take the mortal for themselves, either. Yet, as the figure spoke, he recognized it as his second eldest sister. That calmed his anger a bit, knowing that it was Envy. She'd always been his favorite sibling (though Gluttony was close behind). After all, did envy and greed not fall hand in hand? An object or two from his massive collection was a small price to pay for a loyal friend among the house of the sins.
Yet her words made something twinge inside of him, something that he found rather unpleasant. He musn't have all the fun? What if he wanted all the fun? Such a horrid choice of words. For that was the difference between the two of them- Envy took what she wanted, but only the pretty things, only the things that caught her eye. Greed did not discriminate. He did, indeed, want it all. That it was ugly or inexpensive was of no matter, for anything was beautiful as long as it was his. The very idea that he was not entitled to everything struck him like a slap in the face, and though she could not see it, his bloody red eyes narrowed dangerously.
But of course she could not know that she had hurt him. He was supposed to be the jolly one, the eccentric one. The one who could never be seen as a threat. A fight now would put his entire hoard at risk, which would be no good at all. So he simply laughed, watching as the same shadows that serviced him rendered her invisible as well. "You know I've never been one for sharing, my dear." His voice rung out, loud and bold, making the elven girl stop in her tracks. "But anything for the sake of the game." The second statement was softer, impossibly sweet, holding the small hints of amusement that made it clear- the game had already begun.
Several long strides later, he was standing before the girl. A long golden necklace gleamed in the dying evening light, and he licked his lips eagerly. Of course, if she was that rich, she probably had an escort a few minutes behind her. But no amount of mortals would pose a problem for the two demons, especially cloaked in darkness as they were. For now he would just enjoy the game...[/classy] [STYLE=font-family: palatino linotype; font-size: 12px; color: #9F7575; border-top: 1px solid #0f1d3a; width: 340px;]words: 441;; tags: envy (yume);; notes: aww, thanks~ and i loved your post, too. ^^[/style]

[style=font-family: times; font-size: 12px; letter-spacing: 1px; text-transform: lowercase; color: #989898; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;] 842 WORDS FOR GREED I <3 youuuu aha. These two are going to be great, I can tell. Over to you.
ENVY [/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #6d6d6d;] [style=padding: 10px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 10px; height: 475px; overflow: auto; color: #1e1e1e;] "That is true brother perhaps we shall " she stated simply, a slight impatient tone surfacing through with an unseen nod cloaked just like her younger sibling unaware of that fact that she had caused him some offence. Not that it would bother her too much if she had. Envy suffered from her family's insults more aggressively that others especially if they related to some way to her looks or the items that she possessed. After all her very nature made her take offence from an elf if they were just holding a piece of cloth that she wanted often torturing said elf long after they had given up the item. To her torture wasn't just a sport, it was what she did best.
Shifting her weight she felt the male brush past stopping only when he was inches away from the female elf, her facial expression distorted to that of a confused and scared child. Unable to stop herself Envy smirked a vicious grin exposing her teeth before she allowed herself to drift forward slightly being careful to mind Greed's rough location. She outstretched her hand gently running one of her fingertips along the soon to be victims arms causing the girl to flinch in response twisting her body like she expected to see what was happening. Iara used the moment to cut swiftly with her nail just above the females elbow leaving a long thin wound that dropped four minute beads of blood as the elf yelled out in shock. "Shhh" she soothed pressing her hand tightly against the creatures mouth pulling said female towards her mouth leaving a small trail of salvia as she ran her tongue down her cheek. "You nearly taste as good as Lust" she exclaimed feeling no fear of using the male's real name seeing as the dead couldn't speak and the ears that were discovering the secret would soon be just that.
The demon regretfully let go of the female as she heard the familiar sound of a horn more than likely from her company. With a tut Envy swung her arm backwards sending the elf face first into the direction of where her brother was earlier unaware if he had moved or not. "Here you play, I'm going after her friends" Iara explained her dress gliding against the soil and stones pulling them along slightly as she moved towards the noise resisting the urge to scream out at the top of her lungs. Torture was more fun than the chase besides she didn't want to ruin her newly stolen golden dress which sparkled in the sunlight like crystal clear water.
Iara stopped moving as she reached a large open area spotting two figures than were running into her vague direction, forgetting she was invisible the female dived behind a small series of trees her hair resting against the bark. "Hello boys" she cackled watching the male duo frown yet still follow the noise. Her eye's opened out in joy once they got closer spotting the various trinkets that lined their bodies, coins rattling within their pockets, bracelets along their arms, rich cloths upon their back. Oh she was in heaven. Well, more like hell being a demon it was the one place that she guessed was home having only heard about the place from trivial discussions with groups of elves.
Pulling under her dress she grabbed her daggers forward resting them against each cheek while allowing the sun to enter her body removing the small trail of shadows that covered her and replacing it with warmth. Envy preferred to have her prey look at her before she slashed their throats. "Want to play?" she asked in a child like manner hiding the blades behind her with one hand as she lifted her dress with the other, a soft playful tone to her appearance and tone "Well? Do you?" Iara rested motionless as the two males shook their heads stating that they were after their friend, a female elf. They told her that they were in a large company of six including the female when she had run off wishing the see the chirping animals she had heard so much about. Asking if she had seen her Envy responded with a nod following a toothless grin.
"She's just over that ridge, my brothers taking care of her. Though of course his care means she will be dead shortly. Just like you" she snarled taking a couple of seconds to pronounce each and every word hoping that the two would understand her. Their faces dropped in horror to look at each other returning their gaze to Envy it appeared that they did. Tilting her head she twirled herself through the air a dagger pulled to it's full length as it swiped past the eldest elf's neck ripping his vocal cords in half. "Any last words? Oh wait how silly, you can't speak anymore can you?" Iara laughed threateningly watching the other male rush at her figure obviously not aware of her constricting grip on another dagger.
