She wore what her mother and father had sent her from their home. Attached had been a note saying that all the females of the family wore their own gown designed the same way when they went to meet their beast at the mystic pool. The color changed to fit the woman's eyes. It was a simply bikini styled top with matching shorts that have a see-through skirt with boots that matched the top and shorts. The entire design was sprinkled with tear shaped jewels in green, like her eyes, and a purple. Aphenria liked the outfit and wore it happily but when she was taken to the mystic forest to find her beast, she found herself feeling over exposed. She had to assure herself that she could heal her wounds if the need arises, that alone kept her from feeling utterly abandoned. Her steps were quiet as she moved towards the mystic pool, where her beast would be waiting for her. Momentarily she wondered if there would be a beast there for her but she shook that thought away. She would have a beast waiting for her and it would be her closest companion until she found her other half. When she caught a glimpse of water reflecting in the moonlight, her excitement got the better of her. She rushed forward, her blonde ponytail trailing behind her. The moment she hit the clearing she found herself looking straight into the eyes of a big creature. She had never seen anything like it before. It was as black as night with eyes that blazed red. Her heart picked up its beat. This scary creature couldn't be her beast. She didn't usually run away from anything but the sigh of this creature made her turn and run. When she heard the creature advance towards her, her only thought was that she might not have enough of herself to heal. I don't wanna die! That single thought kept repeating in her head as she ran through the growth with the huge black beast not far behind. She ran until she came to a hollow tree, where she took shelter, pulling her legs to her chest as she quieted her breath, listening for the beast. Running away isn't going to help. If this is my beast I need to face it! This thought pierced through her panic and she obeyed it, stepping to face the creature, who seemed to be waiting for her to exit her hiding place as if playing hide and seek with her. She tightened her hands into fists and faced on the creature without shivering in fear. The beast was about to strike her when she saw a flash of hooves and heard a voice in her head. That's more like it. A rider who can face danger and stand fast. Her green eyes grew big as she saw the most beautiful creature she had ever seen. It was both bird and deer, graceful and fierce. It attacked the black creature to knock it back. The winged deer huffed out a breath in warning and the black creature took the hint, leaving the way it had come. Aphenria looked at the multicolored creature with awe. It had elegant antlers on it's head and huge black wings tinted with a blue color. His flank was colored with blues, greens, and oranges. He was the prettiest thing she had ever seen. I was waiting for you to show that you had courage. I am Zavrynn, a Tanager Stag Peryton. Aphenria smiled. "Zavrynn..." It was a nice name for him. Speak with your thoughts, teeny fawn. Aphenria blinked at his weird nickname for her. I am Aphenria Melodias and I have been waiting to meet you. Zavrynn huffed and pawed at the ground with his front hoof. The creature, walking on two hooves and two claws, walked up to her as she did the same to him, with her hand outreached. He reached his snout to her hand, letting his wings fan out to block the moonlight. His fur was soft to the touch and she felt his warmth. Her heart felt as if it had only just become whole. Zavrynn was her partner through thick and thin. Would you like to fly? She heard the statement with confirmation that Zavrynn felt the same for his Rider. Through thick and thin, day or night, they had each other. She nodded eagerly. Zavrynn lowered to the ground and settled with his wings down so she could easily climb on. She sat on his back and once she was settled, Zavrynn stood and stepped around, allowing her to get used to being astride before taking off into the night sky, as partners facing the world together.
