It was quiet in the palace named for the white material it was carved from. The day was bright and hot but the wind rolling through the castle keep the place comfortable. The garden plants seemed to be enjoying the sunlight, the flowers budding to greet the bright day. This same feeling brought Aphenria to the gardens. She had been relieved for the day unless she became needed to heal someone or not. Having found a moments peace at her disposal, going to the garden to lounge seemed like her best choice. Zavrynn, always at her side, seemed out of place in such a bright place when his feathers and fur seemed mostly black. The sun made him stand out even more with his bright colored flank and chest. He huffed out a sigh of relief. Aphenria knew he didn't enjoy being indoors, preferring the gardens more than any other place in the castle walls. Do you ever regret choosing me as your Rider? She knew the answer but she wanted to hear his voice tell her. I didn't get to choose my Rider but even if I did, you would not be a choice I'd regret. Aphenria smiled up at her companion as they walked through the gardens. No matter what Zavrynn said, she knew he would like nothing more than to go out and save someone, just as she did. Helping others seemed to be their biggest connection. They both wanted nothing more than to protect dear ones; although Zavrynn was built better to accomplish that then his frail healer Rider. Aphenria was dressed in the gown she had worn when she had went to meet Zavrynn, favoring it in such a hot day, despite the wind brushing her hair past her. Her green eyes were their usual luster as she found a nice place to sit in the cool carpet of grass. Zavrynn took his place under a nearby tree not far from her, where he yawned once, flashing his fangs before resting his head in the grass with his antler barely brushing the trunk of the tree. With her Beast resting, Aphenria took the opportunity to be a little un-noble lady-like by sprawling out in the grass. Using one hand to shield her eyes from the onslaught of the sun, the young woman looked into the vast blue sky, daydreaming of flying through them with her own set of wings. Felix let out a long moan as the sun bore down upon his toned figure feeling like a large weight was pulling his body deeper into the ground filling him with pure heat. If he was honest then he would love nothing better than either jumping into a large lake or ripping his armour off for just a few care free moments but of course he could do neither. His current task meant that he had dedicated himself to be a guard for the grounds along with various other soldiers most of which who weren't trained properly due to the guards having been killed by many dark elves as the fights between the two groups of elves escalated.
Tarian snarled playfully from the low rooftop of the castle jumping down to reach Felix's feet in one large bound. "What are you doing?" he hissed trying to be serious though not being able to hide the large grin that was creeping onto his face. <Relax Im just showing the other beast's who's boss> she exclaimed. Although they could communicate through telepathy Felix felt the whole process very unnatural and uncomfortable thus preferred to speak normally unless the two were in battle, even his beast seemed to prefer to hear his voice from her ears than her head. That said the two still had an impossible close bond it was like they had know each other for generations both knowing exactly what the other liked or how they behaved or even what they were thinking. His beast was just that, his.
"Fine just don't get in the way" he exclaimed clutching his sword that rested inside it's holster on his left calf. Tarian made a mock look of horror before she turned to charge across the grounds wailing at the top of her lungs hoping to get his attention causing Felix's heart to drop realizing that he had in fact upset her without meaning too yet again. She took everything so personally. The male frowned shouting over to the other soldiers pointing to his beast where they just rolled their eyes accepting that they needed to cover for him, so much for him trying to be the leader. Although feeling slightly embarrassed he began to sprint across the smooth grass the surface accepting his pace aiding his speed instead of applying friction thus because of this he reached his beast a lot quicker than he normally would have done.
She heard him coming giving her the chance to twist her head away so that she was facing a young female meters away her own beast looking so graceful that even Tarian couldn't argue with. <Who's she?> she asked having forgotten about the previous argument. "A healer of some sorts though we haven't met. Tarian you shouldn't take thing's to heart you know I love you" Her body slowly untensed as she listened to the words brushing up against her rider to show that all was forgiven yet in one swift motion she shoved forward with her head pushing the male toward the resting woman mentally laughing as he fell flat on his face with a clang his armour connecting with the mud. "Thanks Tarian" he moaned yelling through the mud that was trying to get into his mouth.

Aphenria was just starting to daze when she heard Zavrynn's message. Hey, little fawn. We aren't alone anymore. She blinked several times sending him a questioning Huh? in response. It was at that time she heard the male voice. This pulled her further into the real world. She didn't move to sit up however, just listened trying to pick up what the voice was saying. He was talking about her, whoever this person was, but who was he talking to? Zavrynn sent her the answer. His Beast, he seems to favor speaking aloud to her. A kirin from the looks of it. Aphenria's interest was peaked, she didn't think she had seen a kirin before. So she actually moved to sit up just in time to see the Beast's retreating form and a figure fall, face first, in front of her. Her face was one of shock but full blast in her head was Zavrynn, laughing! His chest was rising and falling quickly as he laughed, though to everyone but her it just looked like he was recovering from a long run or flight. She just sat there blinking, and pretty confused at the blonde guy in front of her. When she recovered from this, she moved towards him on all fours, a look of concern on her face. Her blond ponytail rested over her right shoulder, and her eyes were a light green looking at him with genuine concern, and maybe a small glint of humor, she hoped he couldn't see that part though. She had forgotten what kind of attire she was in and that being in such a position could end badly for her. "Are you okay, Sir?" Without being asked, she took off her shawl from her shorts and used it to clean mud off his cheek. It just came naturally to her to do this, she was a healer after all. Looking after your patients was part of the job. It wasn't until she realized how she must appear, in such a provocative outfit on her knees so close to someone who was obviously male. Zavrynn's laughing died away and he fidgeted uncomfortably. If you're gonna have thoughts like that at least keep me from getting them! This made her turn bright red. And didn't help her take her mind off of how close she was to this man when she didn't even know his name. He was obviously a soldier from the armor, and that meant he was either very skilled or a newcomer, most of the force had been lost to the dark elves. She remembered only being able to save a handful. It had taken Zavrynn a week to get her to smile again after that. Being unable to help did that to her. Even though she was blushing, in such an outfit, and wiping mud from his face, she couldn't bring herself to move away. She had probably failed this man. How many close friends had he lost because she was too late to save them? It was this thought that kept her from backing away from him. "You have a pretty rambunctious Beast. Must be nice to have so much energy in someone so close to you." She said this while avoiding his gaze, focusing on cleaning the mud from his left cheek but a small smile was on her face, and her cheeks still slightly flushed. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url(http://cache2.allpostersimages.com/p/LRG/18/1847/CGG8D00Z/posters/porchez-cedric-white-and-pink-orchid.jpg);,true][cs=2] L E A D S T O N O W H E R E | [atrb=width,240] Sir? Someone was calling him sir? Well that was new not that he didn't like the feeling of importance it just seemed strange to hear the words directed at his figure instead of him speaking them toward someone else. "Sorry" he moaned beginning to force himself against the earth when a gentle hand brushed lightly against his cheek a cloth wiping away the mud that had attached itself to his skin. Upon opening his eyes to stare at his helper, he noticed that it was the very same girl that his beast had pointed out earlier causing a small grin to appear on his features. Now he knew what Tarian was playing at. Everytime the male came across someone attractive his faithful beast would in some shape of form get Felix talking to them hoping that he would find someone to be with as according to her the male didn't have a life outside of the battle field.
He attempted to apologize yet again however stopped once he saw what position the female was in making his breathing slow slightly in order to control his own body though it didn't seem to be working as almost instantly he felt his blood pumping through his chest. Feeling the blood in his cheeks he tried to cover up by taking his stare away from the female and toward her beast. The creature seemed to having some kind of fit or something, then again like his own he was probably just laughing at him. "He's beautiful" he expressed ignoring the snarl of annoyance that came from Tarian knowing that she was getting jealous. Although for once he didn't exactly care, she had pushed him into a sector of mud, he was pissed. <Don't blame me, I saw her looking at you>
Rolling his eyes he nodding in response knowing fully well that she had been staring in sky because he himself had been watching her graceful figure even though she had been in a pretty revealing position. Felix felt his heart quickening while he remained still. Experiencing a small electric current pulse from the elf through his cheek into the rest of his body charged him full of energy which Tarian must of sensed as she leapt forward to the pair. Rolling onto her front her head rested on her paws while her eyes glowed against the sun reflecting a sparkle within each eye. <Now don't get nervous>
Eli twisted his face lips pursed yet didn't say a word for his expression said everything that he needed to making said beast lower her gaze to the stag like creature a tilt of it's head in question. <He's not that amazing> she moaned silently wrapping her tail around her slender body staring across the emerald green yard her feet having sunk gently into the soil creating a small bed. "Um yes. Kind of. I mean it can be annoying. But no. Um yes it's nice" he eventually spat out a nervous tone spilling through his speech reddening his cheeks even more "Im Felix and she's Tarian"
Eli screamed inside his head hating the fact that he got so nervous around people. The fact of the matter being that he hated getting close towards someone in case he lost them again just as he had his parents. He doubted that he would have anyone if it wasn't for his beast due to the fact that he had met her before the fateful event granting Felix with the honor of having her by his side. If anything ever happened to her then he didn't know if he could ever cope. Sending the very thought's to his beast he saw her shake out of the corner of his eye before noticing a tear drop from her glowing fur blending in to the aquatic tones.
Gulping his fear down he directed his full attention to the woman trying his hardest for his friend. "What are you doing out here anyway?" he asked gently, finally moving to sit beside the female on the dry grass instead of the lovely thick section of mud his face discovered moments before unaware that he would be seated in such a way that he could see all the female had to offer "Your skirt I can see your um, you might want to sit down" Felix forced his expression to remain blank, his cheeks going raspberry red and his chest lifting against his armour the metallic suit feeling ever so slightly tighter.

Aphenria noticed the cheek she was wiping get a little flushed. He must have noticed how she was positioned. This didn't help her at all, causing her to become a brighter red, but she didn't say anything about it. She was grateful that he left the subject alone and turned the conversation to Zavrynn. She felt his laughing die down and knew that the compliment had earned him a degree of respect from Zavrynn. He could be the protective type though. The last time she had shown an interest in a male, he had actually spied on the guy, making sure he wasn't up to any funny business. She had thought it was odd when he would disappear for a time only to return and act as if he hadn't left. That boy had obviously realized that he was being followed around by a giant deer bird and obviously cut ties, not knowing if the Beast was there on it's own or sent by it's Rider. Zavrynn huffed as she over viewed that memory. It was just once, I told you that guy was a pansy anyhow! How can he protect you if he is scared of cats? That fear is trivial and stupid, he was unacceptable. At least this guy is a soldier and acknowledges how awesome I am. Not to brag or anything. If she were looking at her beast she would have rolled her eyes at him but his light tone told her that that was the reaction he wanted her to have. "He is, but you shouldn't tell him so, he can be a bit... pretentious." Zavrynn made an annoyed sound both through her head and out of his real mouth. He didn't move from where he lay though. That was when the soldier's Beast reappeared. She was very beautiful. Kirins were gorgeous. Zavrynn didn't take offense to her compliment of the creature because he thought so too. Only thing that could make it better is if she weren't a ground-lover.She couldn't help but smile before sending to him. You are never gonna get a girlfriend like that. He huffed as if that thought was as silly as it was unlikely. The romantic in her pictured an entire life for the two beasts and their stunning children, which made Zavrynn cringe, he hated it when she did that. The soldier seemed to be the shy type because he had a hard time answering her question but she just have him a smile and replied, "It's nice to meet you Felix." She then turned her green gaze to his Beast, "And it's nice to meet you too, Tarian." Her tone was light and cheery, despite her cheeks still being a bit pink. She noticed him gulp as if he was having a hard time with something. She just tilted her head slightly in curiosity but said nothing. Her ponytail slid from her back, and touched the ground, luckily not where any mud was. It must have been dumb luck for Felix to have landed in it. "Well, I was given a personal break so I decided to sunbath, plus Zavrynn doesn't like being cooped up in the castle all day. If he has to be here, he likes having the sky above him here." She didn't move as he sat beside her, but when he pointed out that she was revealing herself in a most unbecoming way, she immediately sat down in a way that would hide that. Her cheeks were completely red now. She just sat there, looking at the ground, her cheeks feeling like they were on fire. She needed to say something to get that little scene in the past. It was only then she realized she hadn't introduced them. "Oh, my name is Aphenria Melodias and my Beast is Zavrynn." She didn't look at him while saying this. She looked down at her hands as she fidgeted nervously. She could hear Zavrynn laughing slightly before he seemed to go back into rest mode. "What brought you out here? If you don't mind me asking." Then maybe all beasts are like that, Tarian just loves to brag about herself" he exclaimed with a cheeky side grin towards said female who merely blinked twice with a small playful snarl. Though as she closed her eyes Felix saw her take a quick glance at the stag like creature known as Zavrynn with eyes sparkling like he had never seen before infact the pair of oval shaped devices were glowing a fierce aquatic blue, deep like the sea. <Don't even think about it> she warned her rider as the solider had begun to open his mouth aware that he was about to ask what she was doing staring at the only other beast in close proximity seeing as she hardly took any notice of beasts that didn't appeal to her.
The blonde haired male raised his arm in order to shield his face though the armour around it just reflected the suns rays even more, regretfully forcing him to turn slightly against the giant star. Unknowingly he leaned closer to the young female. Upon being spoken to Tarian pranced toward her long blue fur drifting gently by her body aware of everything around her including the chirping birds that roamed around them. Gracefully, carefully and slowly the beast lowered her head toward Aphenria's side running her head against her leg introducing herself while making it know that she was happy to meet her too. "I think she likes you" the male told her having forgotten about being nervous yet ignored wanting to say that he liked her too. After all falling in a large puddle of mud was embarrassing enough and he had gotten through that, not a lot else could make it worse.
Felix listened to the other elf's words nodding at her comments. "The castle can be quite enclosed when you find yourself down it's narrow passage ways all day" agreed the solider pushing his legs out in front of him in order to sink more comfortable in his man made grass seat "I prefer being outside too, my parents they liked to hunt when I was younger. They taught me everything I knew before I became a guard of the castle" Heart pumping gently against his chest the warrior drew his weapons placing them beside his lap in order to show his new found friend gesturing that the bow used to belong to his mother while the sword belonged to his deceased father. Leaving them out for a few moments allowed him to feel slightly more weightless for awhile which he took as a token that things were looking up.
"I was guarding the castle, still should be guarding the castle but Tarian and I had a bit of a disagreement" he stated pausing a few times as he spoke "So I chased her and ended up in that wonderful pile of crap before meeting you" Being more confident than minutes earlier he was finally able to stare directly at his friends face able to notice just how much more beautiful she was up close. Her skin appeared smooth and flawless while her body was toned with curved in all the right places except the fact that a large trail of mud resided on Aphenria's hand which he instinct reached toward brushing said substance away with a gentle touch feeling her fingers brush against his own making his breathing slow.
Like the pair of elves both beasts seemed to be getting better acquainted with each other. Tarian stared toward the male beast with small glee on her face as she walked over to meet him brushing herself up against a near by tree standing inches away from the powerful creature. <So he's not that bad. Still he's a strange combination. What is he a pigeon and a ferret?> Now it was Felix's turn to laugh as he imagined the strange vision of the two animals being fused together being sure that it would look nothing like what Zavrynn was. "She wants to know what Zavrynn is, my beast hasn't seen anything like him before. She thinks he's cute" At that moment the blue female jumped up onto her hind legs eyes opened wide. She stared from her best friend to the elf female to the beast beside her tilting her head toward the ground as she played with her feet ignoring any eyes that were on her. <I'm going to kill you>

Him leaning closer to her made her more aware that he was a man, and a handsome one at that. Not to mention his beautiful beast came up to her as well. She gently reached for Tarian's head and made contact. She was even more beautiful from such a short distance. She found herself feeling more at ease and less embarrassed as she pulled away. Him saying that his Beast liked her made her turn her smile to him. "I think I like her too." Him talking about parents was a bit of a surprise to her. She didn't know him at all and yet he was sharing something as his parents was, oddly flattering. Her smile faded into a curious and almost concerned expression. She took in the weapons his parents gave him and marveled at how well made they were. These must be his greatest treasures. Zavrynn puffed out a confirmation to her thought. He seems to like you as much as his Beast does and he seems to be letting you know it by tell you something personal. If you like him you should let him know something personal as well. Just nothing sexual okay? She gave her Beast a look. Why on earth would I do that? Stupid Zavrynn! He just gave a little laugh before focusing on the kirin out of the corner of his eye. She turned her attention to Felix as he explained why he had ended up out here. She gave him a sweet but sympathetic smile. "It probably cooled you down a bit but I don't doubt you would have preferred water to mud." She had just finished that statement when she felt his touch on her hand. She blushed a bit at that, looking down and away at the casual touch. When Felix laughed she gave him a questioning look. Had Tarian said something funny. She turned to see her looking over at Zavrynn, who also was looking at her. Zavrynn's ear twitched in response to her obvious interest. Why is she looking at me like that? Then Felix voiced what Tarian had said. Then again, judging from the Beast's reaction, that hadn't been what she said at all. She gave a small smile, obviously wondering what part of that wasn't what his Beast had wanted said. "He is a Tanager Stag. A mix of bird and deer." Zavrynn didn't move from where he lay, even though he was the topic of their conversation. He hadn't even commented on the cute statement. Do you not like her Zavrynn? He huffed out air as if he was mocking a laugh. It's nothing like that. I just don't think she thinks I'm cute. Besides you don't call a male cute, it's mocking and dishonoring me.Regardless, Zavrynn had to admit that he liked the Beast. Definitely not his least favorite creature, although it was sad she didn't have wings like his own. He always felt sorry for the Beasts who could never even dream of leaving their sturdy, constricting earth. Aphenria shook her head at that, turning back to Felix. There was no rule saying that you couldn't touch another persons beast or rider but still that very thing had almost become a taboo to some people believing that terrible things would happen if ever someone chose to rode another's beast. Of course it was all lies yet the kirin understood the feeling pulsing across her fur. Ignoring the negative comments circling around her head the beast gracefully drew back with a polite nod in both elves direction losing Aphernia's gentle touch. <She is strong for one so small> she directed toward her friend causing Felix to smile gently. In other words she would be a good partner.
The small party of four said nothing as the knights weapons were being handled. Nothing needed to be said. "My parents died. Killed actually. By the dark elves. It was a long time ago but I keep these weapons with me to remind me of their sacrifice and so that I can keep them with me always" he spoke ending the silence. No he didn't want sympathy he just needed someone beside Tarian to speak to about the ordeal. <You trust her already> it wasn't a question. Felix knew that the female beside him didn't know anything about him, she didn't know his past, she didn't know his present and she had no idea what he wanted in his future she also didn't know that he wanted to include her in his last statement.
As a knight he should know not to rush into things, that thinking with your head before your heart would secure a victory but Aphernia was no battle plan. She was no normal elf. In short she was special. "Yes. Water would of been preferred but then if I had fallen in the water I wouldn't of come across such a beautiful. Um. A beautiful sight. With you. I mean. Eugh. I wouldn't of met you so this is the only time I will ever be thankful to a pile of mud" he expressed a nervous look within his eyes for his confused speech before turning towards the small pile of soil a laugh produced into the air "So I Felix Cosmoto thank you, pile of mud. For allowing me to meet the beautiful and graceful Aphrenia"
<A Tanager Stag? I have only heard stories about them. Never have I seen another> addressed the beast mostly to herself though of course within close proximity to her rider any thought they had they shared meaning to or not. Felix grinned at his friends reaction merely waving her down with one of hands. "With this reaction he's going to know for sure" explained the solider stopping the blue female in her tracks. For the first time since the pair had been together, she didn't know what to do. "You moan at me enough to express my feelings so express your own" he instructed his beast who maintained eye contact with her rider which seemed to last forever. Nodding slowly the creature out stretched her claws into the soil her tail flowing behind her strong feline like figure before jumping at Zavrynn a growl erupting from her throat. Aqua like eyes stared at the beast's figure as she made her way around him ears twitching slightly with the direction of the wind.
Felix had never seen anything so beautiful. In fact he had to admit the two beasts before him seemed to match perfectly within a graceful yet powerful manner, both easily being able to hold their own. Watching the creatures made the male forget just about everything allowing his tough figure to relax automatically clutching his hand around the female beside him. Chest heaving out of nervousness, fear and hope the solider took a quick side glance. "Long enough" Without another word he moved closer to the female elf breathing in the sweet scent that was her form. "Aphernia I" he began not knowing how to finish.

Follow the Light;
Accept the Shadows
Zavrynn shuffled uncomfortably under Tarian's attentions almost as much as he was about Felix being close to Aphenria. He made that clear when he spoke through their bond. Little fawn... His tone was that of a parent giving his child a warning that she was straying too far, or at least farther than he would like. His black wings ruffled as if to mirror his agitation. Aphenria let her gaze travel from Felix as she looked questioningly at her protector and closest confidante. Why are you so on edge. He is a soldier of light. He won't hurt me.Zavrynn huffed out air from his snout, as if to give a fake laugh. It's not like I think he'll kill you. He isn't that big of an idiot. I mean something else... he didn't continue that thought but Aphenria got the message. She responded by turning red before sending back to him. He- I- Why would you think that, I've just met him!Zavrynn didn't reply to this, he just gave her a single look before focusing his attention back on the Beast who now was moving towards him. Aphenria thought about poking fun at him and his admirer but decided not to, which Zavrynn replied Good, I don't want you playing matchmaker. We are both too busy to be looking for soul mates. Not to say these two are. He added that last part because he knew Aphenria would love the thought of finding her soul mate. She sent a mental pout but it didn't show on her face. Having a Beast meant she had to learn quick how to convey her emotions to him without showing them to others. It was kind of weird to make puppy-dog eyes at someone she just happened to have a chat with. She fidgeted uncomfortably as he explained the weapons and what they meant to him. She couldn't relate to that, both of her parents being alive and well out in the countryside estate with her brother, trying to stay out of the war. She gulped nervously before deciding on a soft toned neutral comment. "They must have been very brave. I'm sure they would be happy to know you are okay." She wasn't sure what else to say about that. She took her green glance from his mementos looking down at her outfit and shawl. These were her mementos. In comparison, it was impersonal and actually pretty sad. This was the outfit made for her when she became of age. She liked wearing it because it reminded her of home but not of her parents. She remembered the days when she would play by herself, when her little brother wasn't old enough to play. She had been largely ignored in that household until she healed her brother that fateful day. She glanced at the man sitting next to her, deciding that such a story wasn't anywhere near as sad as his was. She felt voicing it would be like trying to compete on who had it worse, a losing battle on her side. She listened to his attempts at flattery with a slightly tilted face, an amused smile on her face. He was pretty shy for a grown man, a soldier no less. She guessed that maybe knowing your way around the battle field was probably easier than speaking to a girl to some. She gave a light laugh as he said thanks to the mud. Aphenria felt her cheeks turn pink a bit at him complimenting her so openly though. Most didn't flirt with her simply because of her connection with the King. He could be a bit protective after all. "I wouldn't exactly say I'm graceful..." She looked down at her lap with a small smile on her face. Zavrynn huffed in amusement but Aphenria didn't bother responding to him. "With this reaction he's going to know for sure. You moan at me enough to express my feelings so express your own." It took her a second to realize he was addressing Tarian. Zavrynn was a lot quicker to catch his meaning. His ear flicked back as if he had heard something he had rather not have. When the seconds ticked on in silence, Zavrynn shuffled a bit more. His eyes darted right to Tarian as she jumped at him with a growl. He stood up his wings unfolded but not spread full length. His ears were flicked back as if he was cornered by some predator. It seems like Felix isn't the only one who understands battle more than interacting with the opposite sex... Zavrynn growled at her statement, or maybe in response to Tarian's growl. Aphenria was sure it was both. His head went low and his wings fanned out, keeping his stunning eyes on the blue kirin. Felix moved his hand so that it rested over her own and answered her question then. "Long enough" It was kind of vague. She wondered why he would be vague about that and yet so open about his parent's deaths but his hand was a bigger distraction. This was her first time having a man hold her hand, not counting the King or his brother. His grasp was warm and inside she was squealing with excitement. This was almost as sweet as the stories she had read in the library about knights rescuing beauties. Zavrynn was too busy to comment. "Aphenria I..." She lifted her gaze from his hand resting on hers and found herself very close to him. Her bright green eyes were curious and shocked. She didn't move from him though, not sure what she was waiting for. Word Count: O _ O Muse: GREAT! Tagged: Felix Song: N/A |

Not only that but she was good friends with the king, his king the very man that he had laid his life down to protect many a time his brother however he couldn't care less for. That elf had lost his protection when the male left to rule over the dark elves a legion of people who to Felix were scum. No Cosmoto wasn't a bad guy, far from it. When he was a child he was taught to protect life to honor it to respect it. Upon his parents dying he became nothing more than a shell of his former self. He still enjoyed himself but no longer did he dwell on trying to be happy, every time a small aspect of joy appeared it was taken from him like his body was removing a vicious disease from it's system. Magic was real why couldn't a curse be too?
He knew people who were close to him some of them he considered best friends to have suffered a harder life that him, a solider watching his family being tortured before being left to deal with the horror. Turned out the solider wasn't as strong as he thought. He had taken his own life. As a young adult Felix knew what that was like. To feel the pain surge through his heart every minute of every day feeling like he was alone in an empty world covered in darkness in a cold frost chilling his bones which would crumble if he fell again. Emotionally the only world for how the male used to feel was depressed. Had he gotten better? Honestly he didn't know the male couldn't say for certain.
Something he did know however was that Aphernia made him feel different. She ignited a warmth inside of him that he hadn't felt for so long, she was like a fierce light destroying the darkness from within though his heart remained untouched. Felix wanted to hold love again to have it in the palm of his hands. "Aphernia I" he repeated his words heavy drawing his figure deeper into the soil unable to show tears for he feared he had none left "I shouldn't be here. This is wrong. You have so much to give and I can only take. My life hasn't been easy I don't want to taint yours too" With that he broke contact standing to his feet Tarian sensing her rider broke contact with the male beast meeting Felix in under a second, so she couldn't fly she was still faster. <Felix breathe>
"I can't" he muttered the invisible aura of darkness surrounding his body draining the small flicker of light that he held. <Don't you dare go back to that. You got through it. You are far stronger than you think. Your a knight god damm it now breathe> Aqua eyes scanned his figure the beast having used her ability to glow creating the illusion of her fur being alight. Knowing that she was indeed right he turned toward the lake the surface of the water gently shifting with the wind. Growling Tarian darted the other way back to the blonde elf where she opened her mind to the female sending a thought, just one thought into the females head. <Please don't hate him. He cares too much. He doesn't know what it's like to be loved he hasn't been for such a long time> She spoke gently her feline tone coming through ever so slightly harsh to address the situation effectively.
She walked back slowly her steps silent against the grass though her face was fixated upon the woman up until a small tear rolled from her own eye forcing Tarian to twist resting up against her rider. She wasn't sure how the other beast would react nor did she care too much, sure she though he was something but her rider needed her. All beasts put their riders first it was an unofficial rule most rules for a beast and rider were never written they were just known. She wondered what her life would be like without Felix, for her it would be torture and for him it would be hell. They were more than friends, they were sould mates destined to be together to have a relationship. They both just hoped that one day they would find someone who cared.
