Arrow words, number notes,Pyry's first real post![/div] Pyry! Pyry! Pyry, I have an itch on my neck, can you get it?
There she went again. She always does that when he doesn't pay enough attention to her. Pyry adjusted his hat so it shielded his eyes from the sunlight and from view. Pyry figured it was best to ignore the griffon or else she would never grow up. He heard her whine like a puppy behind him. She did that a lot too if she realized she was being ignored by her Rider.
Pyry let out a sigh but continued on his way. He was off duty today but even off duty he was looking for ways to become stronger, which is why he was in the town today. He was heading for a small pub but he wasn't going there for the liquid or the gambling. Pyry was going to the pub to find the one people referred to as Arrow. His prowess with the sword was nearly legendary, so Pyry had been trying to track him down to get his help. He had heard that the Arrow wasn't really good with money but he was good at making it using his swordsmanship.
Celebria finally had enough of him not paying her any mind. She pushed his arm with her head and maneuvered it just right so that his hand rested on her snowy white head. She purred at the small victory and Pyry sighed before giving in and scratching her head.
Her feathers and fur were silky soft so he didn't much mind scratching or petting her but she tended to go overboard with it. She wanted his undivided attention all the time and if she didn't he would suffer for it. Once he had ended up face first in the dirt because he didn't pay any attention to the fact that he had left her behind. She could be really annoying but he saw her as a little sister who just needed help growing up and she saw him as a young man who needed to step out of his shell.
She purred with delight that he was giving her affection and continued to keep her head at his side as they walked, her tail wagging as they trudged along. As they neared the pub, Pyry stopped and Celebria let out a small whimper. Pyry looked at the small establishment before directing his attention to Celebria. Stay here, I'll be back in a bit.
She gave him a curious look but said nothing. The white griffon sat beside the door and lay down, her head resting on her crossed front bird claws. Don't take too long. This is already getting boring!
Pyry didn't direct it to her but he knew he was gonna have to hunt her down by the time he got back out. She could never resist going off on her own to see what she could find or who she could meet. It got irksome but Pyry truly cared about the cheery griffon.
He took one glance back at her before entering the pub. Inside there were several tables set up filled with people drinking or playing cards. Pyry was looking for one in particular though but he wasn't about to come out and ask around. Instead, he stood next to the door and waited, listening to conversations here and there waiting for someone to mention Arrow.

A man dressed in black walked down the street, cigarette smoke coming out of his mouth as he blew out. He held the lit cigarette in his right hand between his forefinger and thumb. He then placed it back in his mouth and stuck his hands back into his pocket. He was a rough looking man with shoulder length shaggy black hair and some scruff of hair on his chin. His light grey eyes looked tired and worn, the left one holding a small scar over it, because of the lack of sleep the man was getting and two swords hung from his hip while the third sword was strapped into a horizontal sheath on the lower part of his back. His top shirt buttons were undone, showing a little of his large chest scar, the brand over his heart.
Smoking is going to be the death of you The man waved back at his companion ignoring the statement. The man who went by the name Arrow had just back into town about two days ago from an escort job he’d taken for some quick cash. His companion, who was walking behind him, was a beautiful and regal looking pale blue dragon named Winter. She had pale blue feathers running down her spine and the paws of a lioness. They were an odd pair, one looking like a drunken rough-neck with no life ahead of him and the other a beautiful proud dragon that looked like she could belong to a noble.
Winter got in front of Arrow, a scowl on her face and her sapphire blue eyes narrow. Arrow sighed as he came to stop. He knew what was coming, a lecture. You aren’t thinking of gambling away the money we just worked our butts off to get. You now you suck at gambling Winter growled placing a paw down firmly. Arrow stared into her eyes for a few moments as if to challenge her, but ended up looking away first. There was no way he could win against this stubborn hot-head. “I feel lucky today. With the winnings I make I could probably pay off all my debt.” He said with a small smile and he walked around the dragon. As he passed by, her three-split tail ended up whacking him in the back. He looked back at her, but she wasn’t looking at him, instead she was looking at the sky as if she had done nothing wrong. Shaking his head, he continued on.
He had finally arrived to his home away from home, the pub. In truth Arrow didn’t have a “home”. Instead he’d just sleep outside or at the cheap run down inns down in the slums, it was where he had grown up as a kid. He noticed a snowy griffin outside. He looked back at his own Beast with a small grin. “See you soon partner.” When he referred to Winter as ‘partner’, the dragon seem to calm down a little thinking back to all the times the two had gone through. Grumbling she went to go site on the opposite side of the door away from the griffin.
Arrow entered the pub and almost instantly ran into a young man with white hair and a hat. “Watch it kid, at least don’t stand in front of the door.” Arrow said. Technically the young man was old enough to drink at places like this, but to Arrow he was just a kid. He moved around the young man and took a seat at the bar and lit another cigarette, he had already finished the first one before entering the place. He waved at the bar tender who came over with a small smile on his face. “So how was the job Arrow?” The bartender asked setting down the drink he had quickly poured. It was a glass of the usual Arrow got when he came here. “Long and boringly easy.” He said puffing out some smoke. He grabbed the glass and took a sip of the alcohol.

Arrow words, number notes,Pyry's first real post![/div] The pale haired boy wasn't having much luck with the pub. Someone had hinted off that Arrow would probably appear here as he had just finished a well paying escort job. His lavender colored eyes scanned the muscled and intimidating men, each at their own poison. It always amazed Pyry how light elves could let themselves fall prey to such deeds that would hardly be considered light.
He was listening to some elf singing some sad love song because apparently he had been rejected by the most beautiful elf he had ever seen. Pyry was sure that he had been here for quite a bit and probably wouldn't be leaving anytime soon. He didn't feel sorry for the guy though. If he wanted sympathy he would have to go elsewhere it seemed. Most of the men were either ignoring him or glaring at him to shut his trap.
Pyry was just about to give up on the pub and head back to see if he could find another lead, when he was bumped into. He heard a deep voice calling him kid and scolding him for standing in front of a door he was actually trying to walk through. He wasn't the type to start a confrontation however, so he said nothing to the man. He just moved out of the way and went back to surveying the pub, keeping his eye on the newcomer.
The man smoked it seemed. Pyry didn't like smoking but he was okay with someone else smoking. He was pretty easygoing about letting others be who they are. Which is why even being called kid and scolded by a stranger had no really effect on him. He didnt feel insulted or anything because that was just who the other person was, he couldn't help but respond that way just like Pyry couldn't help but not respond.
Pyry jumped out of his thoughts when he heard the bartender call the newcomer by Arrow. His eyes went straight to the newcomer. He took him in with new eyes. The guy was definitely a fighter from the get up. This was Arrow, without doubt.
It seemed that the rumors he had heard about the escort job were true, it had been no challenge for Arrow and his beast. Pyry was more sure than ever that this man would be the best mentor he could find. So without hesitation he went to the newcomer and took the seat beside him. Without beating around the bush, he looked towards the man he wanted to teach him and without a second thought said. "My name is Pyry. I'm a soldier and I want you to teach me how to handle my swords better."
His eyes were light with a seriousness and determination that meant he wasn't joking in anyway.

As he was drinking, Arrow saw in the corner of his eye the capped boy began to walk over to the bar. He ended taking the seat next to him, the young man’s deep purple eyes looking at Arrow. Maybe it was a request for a job. He didn’t look very wealthy at that so Arrow would probably turn down the job. Then he spoke, very stiffly and formally at that. Taken off guard, Arrow choked on the alcohol a little, his tired gray eyes looking at this boy, Pyry. He seemed to stare at the young elf for a little while seeing the determination and seriousness in his eyes. Arrow let out a sigh, he always had trouble with stiff soldiers who played by the book and that was what this Pyry character seemed like. He placed his cigarette back in his mouth and scratched his head. How was he supposed to respond to such a sudden request? “Um, listen kid. I’m not really good at stuff like that. Why don’t you find someone else?”
Arrow had noticed the swords Pyry had at his hip and he then glanced at his own. He wasn’t cut out for things like teaching sword techniques or things like that. He was simply a man who took random jobs for money and then blew that off on gambling, cigarettes and alcohol. He’s what most called a man with no purpose to life. It’s true. He thought to himself taking the cigarette in his fingers and blowing the smoke from his mouth. Arrow had been like this ever since his wife had died right in front of his eyes. He even thought his daughter was dead even though her body was never found. His eyes seem distant as he thought of his happy life before the dark elves took it all away. His hand around the glass tightened at the thought, but soon he shooed away those thoughts.
Arrow glanced over his shoulder noticing some suspicious guys who, at the same time, looked slightly familiar. They were also eyeing him. On guard, Arrow finished his drink and placed a few coins on the counter. Now he remembered why they looked so familiar, he was sure he owed these guys money. With that it was time to leave before things got ugly. “I gotta go. Nice meetin’ you kid.” He said then waved thanks to the bartender. Still watching the guys in the back corner of the pub, he carefully made his way to the door trying to act as if he didn’t actually see them.
“Time to leave Winter,” Arrow said as he passed through the doors. That was usually code for ‘We need to get out of here now because there are some guys looking for me’. The smaller dragon let out an icy sigh, frost coming from he mouth. Why do always get into these situations? Arrow just shrugged and gave her a little smile, cigarette still hanging between his lips.
(( Pyry can just follow and nag him until he says yes x3 ))

Arrow words, number notes,Late! I was able to finally get this up between study sessions![/div] He saw the man named Arrow choke on his alcohol a bit at his statement. His face remained blank and neutral as he recovered. He focused purely on the man’s gray gaze. This man had seen a lot that much was apparent. Anyone could see the hardships and tests he had gone through clearly in his gaze. Regardless, Pyry didn’t look away from the man, not saying a word more.
Even when the man sighed and returned his attention to his cigarette, Pyry kept his gaze locked on his face. He didn’t wince at being called a kid. It was something that Pyry figured only natural for an experienced man to call him. Pyry knew he didn’t have the experiences this man before him had, even though most of those experiences would qualify him as a man. Arrow knew nothing of Pyry, so he couldn’t hold it against him to be addressed as if he knew nothing.
He was much more focused on the man saying he wasn’t good at that stuff and for him to find someone else. Pyry just titled his head a bit at that statement, giving him a ‘you can’t be serious’ face, his mouth turned slightly down in a thoughtful frown.
Pyry said nothing more though, no objection or comment. He just went over all the others he had tried to ask. Most had turned him down because of his lineage. Others had taken him on but he found that they were lacking in their abilities, rumors turning out false. This man was his last hope of finding a good teacher. If he turned out to be lacking as well, Pyry would just have to make do with how he was now, something he did not want.
His gaze shifted towards the door, he knew his griffon had probably run off by now but he wanted to protect her. Was it odd that he wanted to protect his Beast when it should be the opposite? Celebria was more than capable of protecting herself but Pyry couldn’t help but want to defend her. Maybe it was because she was the first to not care about his lineage. When he thought this he knew in his heart that it was true.
He was so preoccupied with this thought that he didn’t notice the glares from the suspicious men, only really coming out of his thoughts when Arrow spoke about leaving. Pyry gave a nod to the bartender and left after Arrow.
Celebria had indeed left her station. He looked around but didn’t catch her white form anywhere. So instead, he returned his attention to Arrow. When his eyes landed on the man’s retreating figure, along with the smoke trail that dissipated as he moved on, Pyry headed in that direction. He sped up to catch up to him and the white dragon at his side.
Pyry sent out a call to Celebria. I’ve found him but he hasn’t agreed yet. We are leaving the bar so head back over here. He felt her reluctance; she had obviously found something entertaining to do. Awww, fine! I’m coming. With that dealt with he stayed quietly a few steps behind the man, not sure if he was aware that he was being followed by him.
After a few seconds, he realized that he wasn’t the only one following after Arrow. Two men that Pyry remembered in the bar, were following them. Their beasts weren’t in eyesight but from the looks of them, they weren’t the kind you wanted to be on the bad side of. Looks like it was more than just the strange company that drove Arrow to vacate the bar after only being there a couple of minutes at most.

Arrow coughed a little as he walked, a pale blue dragon at his side. He glanced back to see that the kid, Pyry, had followed him. What was he going to do with this situation? He glanced at Winter who was on his right. Don’t look at me, this really doesn’t have anything to do with me The dragon said with a huff. Arrow sighed and ran his fingers through his shoulder length shaggy black hair. He dropped the cigarette and smushed it under his foot to kill the small fire it had left. He turned around, facing Pyry his mouth open ready to say something when he noticed the same guys who had been at the pub were defiantly following him. Did I owe them money? He asked Winter through his mind link. The pale blue dragon turned her head to look, then turned back with another huff. I don’t keep track of all the people you owe money. I’m not your debt tracker He gave a little smile at his Beast. She was always so sharp tongued.
“Hey, fine. I’ll see what I can do, but I’m not going to promise anything.” Arrow said a little hastily. Where are their Beasts? He asked. Winter moved her head, and frosty breath coming from her nostrils. Got us on both sides, one to the left and one to the right. There is also another Beast coming this way, but I can’t tell if it’s friendly or hostile Winter replied. Years of battle had them trained as a team. Arrow just had to trust that Pyry could take care of himself if it came to that. Arrow looked relaxed and unguarded as ever, as if oblivious to the fact he was about to be jumped. “Here’s your first test.”
As if on cue, the two beasts sprang from their hiding places, both aiming at Winter. The small dragon, using her nimble size, dodged the first beast, which was another dragon looking creature. The second creature, which looked more feline-like, ended up slamming into Winter causing her to stagger.Your getting rusty He said. Winter just gave him an icy glare and blew her icy breath onto the first dragon-like beast. Arrow had drawn only one sword and was blocking the blows from one of the two guys who had followed him. Arrow didn’t really know where the second guy was, but for sure he wasn’t any where near Arrow. Maybe he had picked a fight with Pyry.
Arrow pushed the attacker away with a small grin on his lips. “What? We ain’t gonna talk about this?” Arrow asked, sarcasm in his voice. The man gritted his teeth and charged again. He knew full well that the moment they stopped to ‘talk about it,’ Arrow would have already bolted. He was famous for slipping away from his debt collectors. The older man, Arrow, swiftly sidestepped the man at the last moment, catching him off balance. As the man tried to lung at him with the sword, Arrow did a quick maneuver sliding his own blade down the attackers own blade. He then twisted the sword around cause the other man to loose his sword. Arrow then kicked him hard in the gut causing him to fall back and hit his head on a stone. The man was out cold. The older man looked back to see Winter sweep her tail under the dragon-like beasts legs, flipping him. She then blew another freezing breath on its head. Even from here Arrow could feel the temperature drop a little. Seeing its Rider out cold and covered in wounds, the beast finally pushed Winter away, ran past Arrow grabbing his Rider and run off whimpering. There was still another Beast and Rider left, so Arrow ended up watching Pyry fight.

Arrow words, number notes,@_@[/div] Pyry continued at the same pace behind Arrow and his dragon Beast. He wondered what the dragon thought about a white haired boy with a blue cap silently following them. From the fact that it hadn't outright turned on him, it wasn't one that fought for no apparent reason.
He asked Celebria where she was but she was still a bit away when Arrow finally turned to address him. He stopped though, picking up on his other followers. Pyry threw a glance at the two behind him. They were picking up their pace. Pyry's hand rested on the hilt of one of his blades, his expression passive. He didn't take his eyes away from the approaching figures even when he heard Arrow finally agree to mentoring him.
At the mention of a test, he let a grin cross his features. Tests... that was something he could deal with. He caught the sight of the two Beasts as they tried to overpower the Dragon. He heard Celebria's cry and he turned towards it. His white griffon stood on a nearby roof, her look fiery. Pyry couldn't focus anymore on her though, the two men were at him. Booth seemed not to be bothered by him. That wouldn't do... This was a test after all.
He casually stuck out a foot, tripping one of the men while the other continued on. The man's fury was suddenly not on Arrow, and his Beast, a dragon-like creature, looked up, distracted by it's Rider falling flat on his face. The beast let out a loud cry running at Pyry for humiliating its Rider. Before it could hit him though, Celebria sprang into action, using her wind blades to completely throw the creature off it's path before falling on it, attacking it.
Pyry turned to it's Rider, who was now rushing at him, a sword in his hand. Pyry finally drew his and with a single cut and a slight movement to the left, he felled the other man. His beast cried out and Celebria released it so it could take it's rider and leave as well.
With that dealt with, Pyry returned his sword to it's place at his back. Celebria strutted over to him proudly, a purr filled the air. Anyone could tell that she was gloating even without having her thoughts in their head. Pyry gave her a 'would you stop that' lok and she ignored it, pushing him with her head as if telling him to lighten up.

Arrow looked at Winter who just gave him a little shrug. There was a small cut on her snout and shoulder, but it wasn’t anything big to worry about. I think you’re the one getting rusty taking that long to beat that guy Winter huffed hitting Arrow with her tail. He sighed, not really wanting to argue with dragon, but he couldn’t resist one last comment. You know I do better with two swords He said, then turned the younger male before the dragon could retaliate.
He walked over to Pyry, inspecting the ‘boy’. He was pretty skilled, so why did other trainers reject him? From what Arrow could see, he had some raw talent there. If he got the proper training and coaching then he could be a fairly skilled swordsman. Arrow scratched his head as he thought through things. He wasn’t really sure he was cut out for this, but it didn’t seem like Pyry was taking ‘no’ for an answer.
You really should have thought this before rashly blurting things out Winter’s voice chided in his mind making the older man give her a small glare. It was just a spur of the moment. He mumbled to her. She just rolled her eyes and looked away. “Um, okay. So I guess you pass.” He paused thinking of what to say. “I don’t really have place to practice so our best bet is to use the Mythic Forest as a training ground.” He said not meeting Pyry’s eyes. He looked at the two swords at his hip and thought of the third sword on his back. He was more of a two-sword style.
“First I gotta ask, why wouldn’t anyone else take you in? As far as I can tell you got some talent there kid.” Arrow asked seeing a near by create and sitting on it. He lit another cigarette and blew out a puff of smoke. His weary eyes watched the boy waiting for his answer. Looking at the young man’s clothes told Arrow that he wasn’t any type of noble. There were some snobby swordsmen who don’t really get alone with the lower or middle class. The older man’s eye narrowed at the thought. He knew perfectly well that those of lower birth have a harder time moving up into the world.
