A pale looking boy with dark dead-like purple eyes stumbled through the thick forest. His breath was heavy and his sight was blurring. Maybe I should rest here. The fourteen year old boy thought as he pushed his way through some thick brambles. He winced sharply as the gash in his back had reopened once again. The bandage he had tried to use to wrap up his wound was poorly done because the large gash on his back was to low fro him to reach and actually treat it correctly. It was bad that his sight was blurring because that was the only thing that he could use to keep track of his surroundings. He was, in fact, deaf and could not hear anything in his surrounds, which made it difficult to know if he was being followed. His wary dark purple eyes glance behind him and saw nothing but the darkness of the forest.
Suddenly the boy coughed up some blood and the red liquid landed on a rock. He looked at it with his expressionless deathly pale face like it wasn’t a big deal and kept going. He didn’t want to die just yet, with no purpose to his horrible life. Why had he gone through such suffering just so he could die somewhere deep in the forest, where no one would ever find him? He leaned against a tree, looking to his side to see a pool of water. His lips were cracked and is throat felt as if he’d eaten lots of desert sand. He reached out with a muddy hand to scoop the water up to drink it, but he felt to feverish and weak to even lean over to sip the cool looking water. The boy laid his head back against the tree trunk, dropping the water from his hand. He blacked out then.

Hey, don’t die on me now The boy blinked, his vision foggy for a moment as he woke from his uncomfortable sleep. His back felt like it was burning from where the gash was. His facial expression didn’t change as he saw a wolf sitting right front of him. He was confused, however, because he had heard someone speak. The wind blew through the trees and the boy looked up at the moving branches. No sound came to him as the leaves moved in the breeze. He had only imagined it. It was night out, the air in the forest was cool. He shivered as he realized how cold he was right now. The wolf came closer to him and curled up next to the expressionless boy causing him to stop shivering so much. That’s better, isn’t it. The boy looked down and realized that he hadn’t imagined it. This wolf was speaking to him through his mind.
He studied the wolf, her fur a light gray mixed beautifully with shades of blue. Two wings were attached to her shoulders and folded neatly on her back. Her large pointed ears were folded down on her head as she laid her wolf head in his legs. Large silver eyes were staring at him as he stared back at her. He did not smile or make any movement. For a while the two sat there with each other through the night. The way the boy sat seem to not irritate the wound on his back so it was fine as long as he didn’t make any large movements.
After a little while, the blue-gray wolf raised her head, knitting her dog-like eyebrows in concern. We best find you a good healer or else you’ll die from that wound The boy wasn’t sure how to respond, but he tried to speak through his mind. I know, but I’m too weak to walk right now He said sending out his thoughts. The wolves’ ears twitched as if she heard the boy speak out loud. She stood, her furry tail swishing a little. Then I’ll carry you. You are my Rider after all. The wolf said helping support the boy as he stood. So you are my Beast then? I am Ian. The boy said trying to get introduces over with. He winced sharply in pain again as he got onto the wolves’ back. She had crouched down to make the process easier for the boy. I am your beast Ian, my name is Age The wolf said glancing back at him to make sure he was correctly poisoned so he wouldn’t fall off. The boy was leaning over onto the wolves’ back, he breathing heavy and shallow. She figured he was to badly injured to speak much more, let alone think clearly. Instead she padded swiftly out of the clearing determined that she would save her Rider before it was too late.
