Blinded by that of the tear-stained cheeks and blurred eyes, Iris had managed to break away from the remaining three that had escaped with her, heading off track from the Light City and some how passing through the foothills of the Backbone Mountains, and inward to the Mythic Forest. Scared, confused, and drained of any other emotion, she ran, the chance she had taken to look back, a dear mistake that her mind could no longer grasp. Their horrid faces- the sickening twist of their smirks, the slenderness of their bodies, the blood shed upon their skin. She had caught a glimpse of their faces- a red-headed woman, a pale haired man, and that of someone she couldn't distingush, other than the blue highlights that sat upon its' head, and its' ear-shattering cackle as it loomed over a handful of corpses. They were different than the ones that had ambushed the Light City years ago and killed her mother- but they had the same intentions, and now her father was trapped in the clutches of death itself. A small part of the girl wanted to believe that he had survived. That a day or two later, he'll arrive back into the City, and she would run to him in a warm embrace. But what were the chances, when she didn't even know how to get back home? Surroundings consisted with that of towering trees, thickled bushes, and creatures that growled and patted their way around in the shadows, the constant feeling of being watched burrowing into the back of her neck. She was absolutely terrofied, and now she was alone. Exhaustion battled out the remaining wits of the girl as she managed to collapse over one of the solid vines that lapsed out of the earth and back to. A small shriek escaped her mouth, and violet eyes traveled upon the horizon of which her body laid, blood beginning to stir at her kneecaps from her torn stockings. Relucantly, Iris bit her bottom lip til it too, bled, refusing to cry out and accept the fact that she was done for. She had no shelter, no food, no family, no friends. "Momma... Papa... help Iris! Iris doesn't want to die!" the choked voice called out, the taste of salty tears dripping into the corners of her mouth. A kid? Frighten, Iris's orchid hues began to dart in every direction possible. This voice that had rang in her head- it was much chipper than what she could provide at the time. And it brought a sense of curiousity to the mid-teen, her fears transitioning into a silence. In truth, a spark of glee ignited into her stomach for the fact that she was, in fact, not a alone. A few feet in front of her, another pair of purple eyes locked onto those of her own, belonging to that of a scarlet creature, who was enveloped in locks of fur and feathers alike. An arrangement of purple scripts longed against the beast's torso and sides, while down its' spine, was highlighted in brighten gold. Elaborate feathers were carefully placed upon its' mighty wings, while its limbs and face was that of a rodent. Certainly not intimidating, but opposite- a sense of welcome and gratitude. You can hear me? the voice struck again, causing the gems located upon the figure's forehead and pair of whiskers, to radiate per every word. "Uh huh..." Iris nodded cautiously, admiring the creature's elegance. "What are you?" I'm a Dragon. Have you never seen one before? |
"Not like you... but Iris has seen plenty of Dragons. Lots within the City walls."
Iris? the creature blinked, shifting its' average-sized form as it sat against all fours, much like that of a feline or canine. Is that a friend?
"No! Iris!" Iris proclaimed, as she too sat up until she was sitting upon her injured knees, jabbing a thumb at her chest. It was at this point in time that all of her worries had somewhat settled, that this beast in front of her, had captured the majority, if not all of her attention. "Who are you?"
Oh! You're Iris! the Dragon blushed, a taint of pink breaching its' highlighted muzzle. I'm... not sure. I don't have a name... At the creature's reply, Iris's eyes doubled in size, her mouth gaping open in disbelief. "What!? You don't have a name? Your parents never named you? How shameful! Shameful!" the fragile frame shook side to side in frustration as her arms lifted against her chest in balled fist, that of a convient pout. While doing so, the Dragon continued to watch, its' fasination with the teen equal with that of the attention in return.
"Ah! Iris has a plan!" the girl shot up, ignoring that of her wounds as she jumped to her feet and darted an index towards the figure, "Your name is Pierce!" A grin of what seem to be achievement spread across the pale face of the Elf, a consistant set of motions following as she wrapped her arms around her own frame, wavering back in forth in a self-hug while muttering words that the Dragon, now known as Pierce, picked up to be sometihng in the means of Iris is genius! An excellent name! Iris is almighty! Amazing!
Uh... okay! Pierce nodded excitedly, standing back to its' rodent-like limbs and strolling over to its' new-found friend. But before it could get in arms length of its' companion, Iris rushed over, going directly to the Dragon's stomach and observing its' underbelly. Uh... Can I help you? Pierce questioned fidgetity, an awkward aura looming over its' frame as the Elf gestured beneath, getting closer and closer to... more personal genetics.
"Ah! So Pierce is a girl! This is good to know!" Iris exclaimed, lifting her head from the underbelly and looking back to meet the shifty eyes of her former pet. A sleek smile made its way to her lips as she gave Pierce a light nod, as if she had completed some sort of task. "Can Pierce take Iris back to the Light City? I have a house there that we can stay at, until Papa comes home." As if ignoring the events that played just an hour or so before hand, Iris's voice had sounded confident enough that someone would return to the residence. But Pierce was not as absent-minded, the cry that lured her to the child in the first place, causing a slight discomfort against her words. Sure... Pierce will take Iris home her smile was faint as she nudged her muzzle towards her back, suggesting that Iris hop on. Rather her father was granted a second chance to return, or the misery that was in the wake, Pierce knew one thing for sure- that Iris was no longer alone.[/style][STYLE=text-align: center; color: #DAD6E8; font-size: 10px; text-transform: uppercase; letter-spacing: 2px; opacity: 0.8;]made by kiwii at btn![/style]
