A tall man with shoulder length shaggy black hair sat in the small park area that was located near the town. He was on the bench, his hands folded and he was leaned forward. His head hung making his hair fall in his weary looking face. A lit cigarette hung loosely from his lips as he was lost in thought. He had been sitting there for a while now with Winter was laying behind the bench napping for a bit in the grass. It was a nice day, sunny with barely any clouds in the sky. Arrow hadn’t noticed though. He’d been thinking about the past, like he was stuck in some horrible nightmare that wouldn’t let him forget what happen that tragic day.
He coughed, probably due to him smoking too much. The bud in his mouth was almost out. He let it drop from his lips to the ground. At first he did nothing, then eventually he crushed it with his boot extinguishing any sparks left. He leaned back now, he hanging over the back of the bench, arms stretched out along the back of the beach also. The sky was a beautiful blue just like Lilith’s bright eyes. He racked his brain to try and remember what his daughter looked like, but her image seemed blurry. Regretfully Arrow never really had spent much time with his daughter that he could not ever remember what she looked like, not one little detail.
Guilt and sorrow took hold the older man’s heart, but no tears would come to his eyes. He was grown man, so he’d never cry in public. In any case his tears dried up years ago when he had seen his own wife and child being taken from him. His wife killed right before his eyes and his daughter never found again. She was most likely dead now, which only made the black haired man’s heart ache more.
He felt a soft nudge on the back of his head. Arrow looked over to she the pale blue dragon’s deep sapphire blue eyes. They held the same sorrow his bright gray eyes held. They had gone through the same pains together and Arrow was glad he had his Beast by his side. Quit being so hard on yourself She said her tone surprisingly gentle. He just gave her a weak smile and reached over to pet the feathers that lined down her spine. Without Winter’s sharp tongue and pushy ways, he probably wouldn’t be alive right now. He could recall so many times she had saved his hide and Arrow could not ask for a better partner.

Thankfully he was near the park so dived in between two women chatting about someone or other, usually banter between the public wasn't very interesting and thus the solider wasn't interested in it. At all. No instead he ignored the chatter their voices becoming like static buzzing violently in his ears. Once through he was glad to see that the park was relatively empty, compared to the compact pathway anyhow resulting in the light solider making his way slowly toward it a slight lift in his step. The male's beast Tarian stepped beside him gracefully stamping across the ground her fur absorbing the sun's rays to form her coat into a beautiful navy textured color the soft tone causing the female to seem cute and friendly. Which in all fairness she was, unless someone annoyed her or tried to take her for a fool.
<Now what are we doing?> she asked casually a slight sigh in her voice. Her rider didn't ask straight away thinking carefully about the right words to use. He had been slightly more careful around Tarian ever since she had been severely injured from their most recent battle and it had been all his fault. Caught up in his hatred for the dark elves he charged in with his beast vastly outnumbered and even though his head had been telling him to get out his heart cried, it desired revenge it wanted to see the blood of his attackers to feel the liquid pour over his hands. That desire had resulted in Tarian's chest being swiped with a numerous amount of swords nearly splitting her stomach completely open, the only reason she had survived was due to a small section of his soldiers that had came to help the pair along with various healers who until the day before had worked on his faithful beast every moment of everyday. "We are taking some time out" he explained voice deep in regret raising his hand to stop her from arguing.
Knowing what he was feeling Tarian gently rubbed up against him her wound vastly improved and healed that she could hardly feel the surge of pain that sourced through it, Felix on the other hand could. He felt the twinge of regret, of trying to find the words to apologize but finding none that could heal heal the past. <We all make mistakes Felix> exclaimed the female tilting her head to the side as she walked carefully eyeing both their determined path and her master. "But I failed you, It wasn't just a mistake. You nearly died Tarian. I'm your rider I should look after you, not get you into danger. I'm a solider god damm it I should of known better. You kept telling me to leave but I wouldn't listen. I didn't listen and you got hurt. I. I'm. I'm sorry Tarian. I don't know what else to say"
She was about to speak up when her nose twitched with the incoming wind current, the element carrying a familiar substance it's aroma filling her nostrils. It took her just a few moments to recognize the scent causing Tarian to follow the smell towards a small bench on which sat a young man, one that she knew instantly once he eyes passed over his features though he had changed somewhat. A minute or two later her rider was by her side his armour slowing the solider down which he had obviously taken off during the small chase his helmet and chest plate resting by his feet exposing a lightly tanned chest. Tarian rolled her eyes at the site. <Don't you wear any clothes?>
"I haven't got anything that's clean" he moaned with a frown scratching the back of his neck in a slight nervous motion. His beast mentally tutting in his head forced him to shake it wondering what the hell she had run towards seeing only a dark haired guy with his beast. Performing a double take he knew who it was, a solider, a friend, a stranger who he hadn't seen in years not since his family were killed. Slowly taking a step forward Felix stumbled slightly opening his mouth a few times to try and speak eventually he got the courage to spit out a few words hoping that he wasn't making a fool of himself. Arrow twitched at the sound of the familiar voice. He did not look over right away pained by the name he so long ago abandoned. He was now Arrow, the empty shell of the man once named Duke. He, then, leaned forward, his poker face showing now. Still his once bright gray eyes were now dull and worn. His black shaggy hair reaching his shoulders and there was still some scruff on his chin. Arrow eyed the blond man unable to really remember what his name was. So much had happened these past years that it was like all the people he knew had only been part of nice, but distant dream. It’s Felix you ding bat! Can’t you remember your own friends name?! Winter growled all gentleness gone from her tone and features. He looked at her then cracked a small smile. She was always hard on him, but that was what made the pale dragon so loveable.
He lit another cigarette, taking a small puff before speaking. “Well if it isn’t Felix and-“ Winter cut in. Tarian Arrow didn’t even pause when the dragon had cut in. “-Tarian. Fancy meeting you two here.” Arrow said. He had been having a bad already remembering his wife’s death in a vivid dream. The scar over his eye began to throb a bit at the resurfacing memories. His face didn’t show any discomfort, it was blank. It was odd being called Duke once again, but Arrow could understand why Felix had said it. He hadn’t really had told the blond elf because he really hadn’t seen him in a while.
Arrow smiled, cigarette still clenched between his white teeth. He moved to make room on the bench, too tired to stand up to great his old friend. “Come and sit down. Haven’t seen you in forever.” He patted the bench seat. It would be good for him and his friend to catch up after these years. He looked a little different, but that was obviously because Felix had grown and matured over these years. Arrow could say the same for himself since he was sure he looked much different then the last time he’d seen Felix. Arrow had let his jet-black hair grow out and had neglected to shave most of the time. His clothes were worn and his bright gray eyes didn’t hold the same spark they had when he was younger. Still, he was glad to see one his friends still doing well in this chaotic world.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url(http://cache2.allpostersimages.com/p/LRG/18/1847/CGG8D00Z/posters/porchez-cedric-white-and-pink-orchid.jpg);,true][cs=2] L E A D S T O N O W H E R E | [atrb=width,240] Upon hearing his name Tarian growled gently in response while Felix merely grinned knowing that under the circumstances names were the last thing's that Duke needed to remember. Ever since the males family being murdered, cast aside like broken glass his friend had been distant. Did he blame him? No. With his parents being killed during his years as a teenager the knight knew all about loss but still losing a child, that was unimaginable thing to focus on. He couldn't say he knew what it felt like but he understood what it was to lose someone so maybe he could use his own trauma to help out his previous friend? He wasn't sure if anything would help. That wouldn't stop him from trying however. "Winter" he expressed softly reaching out his hand to stroke along the beast's head noticing the difference between his own beast Tarian being soft and fluffy like some kind of giant cuddle like bear.
"We do live here" Felix informed him a smug look on his face "We never moved, no need to. Where else would we go? At least here we can help. Help stop them from becoming stronger" Neither didn't to ask or explain who them were, it was simple. The dark elves. The foes that had ripped many a light elf life apart, they had tortured, murdered and destroyed but they would pay for their crimes on the land. One way or another they too would find out just how much pain they had caused. He wondered whether they would be able to deal with it themselves, Felix wished with all his heart that they couldn't. He wanted them to survive just long enough so that he could deliver the last fatal blow. A blow that would end their pitiful life.
Noticing the gesture the blonde sat down feeling a slight rough texture from the bench it's frame needing mending in more than one area in a similar fashion to the two males that sat upon it. Tarian on the other hand leapt over their heads landing beside the others beast trying to show off her speed and grace, her pride nearly always got the best of her but that was Tarian. That was his beast , he wouldn't change her for the world. "Where have you been? Ever since ..." he began stopping himself quickly knowing that Duke didn't need reminding of that fatal day "I haven't seen you in a long time. I missed you. I'm glad that your okay" His eyes diverted to the ground everything he was saying was true but it was a lot harder to say that aloud to someone who he hadn't seen for years.
The differences was startling. Hair longer on his face as well as his head the male seemed gothic like with eyes that were drained or energy only a small spark of light held within them showing anyone that cared enough that Duke was still alive. Just alive. Opening his mouth words left him, he wanted to help the other male but where could Felix start? He hardly knew anything about him anymore and even if he did the knight wouldn't know how to say them. <Just be honest. He's still your friend. No matter what happened you two stuck together. This is no different> Head turning towards his beast tilting slightly the elf nodded raising his right hand to give a gentle squeeze on the other's shoulder. "I'm here. I always was. You just needed to find me. I'm sorry I wasn't there. When. When it happened"
Tarian swiped her riders armour towards her chest noticing the light that reflected within the metal shone against the two elves encasing each figure in a holy like glow. Feet pounding slightly she relaxed her hind legs relaxing in a sitting position noticing the dragon beside her with a swish of her tail it's blue glow showing that she was happy to see them. <Winter it's been too long> she expressed though meaning how the two had been keeping since their departure
